This years Heritage Farm whistle blow was a blast. We had about 15 whistles of all shapes and sizes.  Our usual group showed up to toot. Ernie Clay, Scott Greathouse, Matt Shawver, and Ron Burcham provided their whistles. There were a few borrowed whistles in the mix as well. While we were blowing whistles the guys on the farm cooked beans and corn bread. Under the mill shed they made cedar shingles, and board. There was a generator, steam pot, a steam pump, and three steam engines going at any given time. Hit and miss engines were putting around in several places. The petting zoo was open with all kinds of exotic women - I mean animals. The model railroad exhibit was open as well as the several museum buildings on the premises. All in all it was a great sunny day to be out meeting and greeting those who showed up. There were many people enthused by the steam whistles. Some even waited an hour just to hear them blow. I think we put on a great show for all of them. Keep em' blowing.
